There’s just over a week left to submit your proposal to our reality remade street photography competition with Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Studio, so we thought we’d send one of our judges, Peter Dench, on a mission to test out the Xperia ray devices our finalists will be using.

Here’s what he had to say:

“Apart from a few family snaps, I’ve never taken a ‘proper’ photograph without looking through a viewfinder.
Shooting the street with the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray was a new found freedom. I snapped unaware strangers on the bus, experimented with angles, put it on the floor and pointed it into the sun.
Discreet, responsive, and a little bit sexy. On my next pavement pounding, it will certainly be within pockets reach.”
