Jared: There is just something that is chronically, absolutely amazing about finding yourself amidst a mundane, everyday scene and extracting a photograph like this from it. Most of all, I like the flatness of this particular image, which is something I have a hard time explaining very well. I’ve always been attracted to photographs that don’t shy away from their 2-dimensionality, photos that accept the limitation and play with it, like how the eyes top left of this picture (and everything else, really) seem to be on the same plane of existence.
